Banana Foster Pancake Recipe

Looking for the perfect breakfast recipe to impress?  Well look no further because these banana foster pancakes are sure to be a crowd pleaser. This banana foster pancake recipe creates the perfect balance of sweet and savory, yes I said savory.  Let's get started making these bad mamajamas. It's pretty obvious that banana foster pancakes need pancakes right? We will start by making the pancake batter first.   I included the steps in the overall directions for the banana foster pancakes but if you are just looking for the regular pancake recipe, here is the batter recipe for my homemade pancakes.

Banana foster syrup ingredients
 2 Ripe bananas
 ½ cup Maple syrup
 ½ tsp Nutmeg
 ½ tsp Cinnamon
 1 tsp Vanilla extract
 ¼ cup Brown sugar
 2 tbsp Butter
Homemade pancake ingredients
 2 cups Flour
 ½ tsp Salt
 4 tbsp Sugar
 1 tbsp Baking Powder
 2 cups Milk
 1 tsp Vanilla extract
 1 Egg
 1 tbsp Melted Butter

Banana Foster Syrup Directions

Heat 1/2 cup of the maple syrup in a small saucepan on medium heat.

Next, add the 2 Tbsp of butter and the 1/4 cup of brown sugar in the maple syrup.

Add nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla extract to maple syrup.

Slice 1-2 bananas in 1/2 inch medallions.

When the foster syrup begins to bubble add 1/2 of sliced bananas to saucepan.

Cook 10-15 minutes on low

Pancake Directions

Combine flour, sugar, salt and baking powder to a mixing bowl. Ensure dry ingredients are mixed well.

Crack 1 egg and add to the mixing bowl.

Stir in 2 cups of milk, melted butter and vanilla extract if desired.

Mix well for 30-45 seconds to ensure there are no clumps. Let sit for 2-3 minutes.

Pour pancake batter onto a preheated skillet in 5 inch circles.

Flip pancake when bubbles begin to appear.

Stack pancakes and top with fresh bananas and banana foster syrup and enjoy.
